LinkedIn Launches Hiring Assistant 2 With Recruiter Memory, Trust Signals and Deeper ATS Integration

LinkedIn's next-generation recruiting agent learns how each recruiter hires, adds verification and candidate-interest signals, and manages talent pools across ATSs including Greenhouse, Lever and SmartRecruiters. Existing English-language customers get the update free from November 2026.

LinkedIn Launches Hiring Assistant 2 With Recruiter Memory, Trust Signals and Deeper ATS Integration

LinkedIn has announced Hiring Assistant 2, the next generation of its AI recruiting agent, with more advanced reasoning, persistent memory and personalization. The announcement was published on September 29, 2026 by Dan Reid, Vice President of Product, and Prashanthi Padmanabhan, Vice President of Engineering, LinkedIn Talent Solutions.

For global customers who already use Hiring Assistant in English, the new capabilities will roll out automatically, and for free, beginning in November 2026.

Where Hiring Assistant stands

LinkedIn first piloted its agentic hiring tools two years ago (DHRMap's coverage of the original launch). According to the company:

  • More than 20,000 companies use its agentic hiring solutions in their first year of general availability, including AMD, Cisco, Ochsner Health, Palo Alto Networks and Zillow.
  • Recruiters are 4x more likely to contact candidates sourced by Hiring Assistant than those found through traditional recruiting methods.
  • After updates across intake, retrieval, ranking and candidate-evaluation models, recruiters are 27% more likely to contact a Hiring Assistant candidate than six months ago.

What's new in Hiring Assistant 2

It remembers how each recruiter hires. With persistent memory, a request for a product-management candidate now draws on the recruiter's hiring history — for example, favoring candidates close to the office, from the retail industry and at mid-level experience. In LinkedIn's words: "before, Hiring Assistant did a search based on what you said. Now, it searches based on what you mean."

It explains its shortlist. New fit signals give a personalized read on how well a candidate matches the role, and a candidate interest indicator estimates how receptive someone is likely to be, based on signals such as platform engagement, Open to Work details and InMail responsiveness.

It brings trust signals into one place. LinkedIn says 39% of recruiters name not knowing whether an applicant — or their skills — is real as a top challenge. With 115 million members verified on LinkedIn, Hiring Assistant 2 combines verification status, ATS insights, pre-screening responses and relevant experience. Verifications will also appear inside partner ATSs, including iCIMS, JazzHR, Jobvite, Lever, SmartRecruiters and Workable.

It weighs evidence of skills. LinkedIn is expanding connected apps, which let members show validated capabilities on their profiles, to partners including Chess.com, ElevenLabs and Medium, with work from Behance and Replit also displayable. Members with a connected app receive up to 2.9x more recruiter messages, according to LinkedIn.

It manages the whole talent pool. Once a recruiter connects their ATS, Hiring Assistant 2 can evaluate and manage every candidate — including people who applied outside LinkedIn — in one place. This is available today with Greenhouse, Lever, SmartRecruiters, Zoho Recruit and Tracker, with iCIMS and Workday "coming soon." Stage changes made in LinkedIn now sync back to the ATS automatically.

It adds voice pre-screening. Recruiters can review candidates' voice responses during pre-screening. LinkedIn says Hiring Assistant completes pre-screening in a median of six minutes, compared with the three and a half hours it typically takes a candidate to receive a recruiter's first response.

What customers and partners say

Cisco reported an "approximately 60-fold increase in candidate review volume" during its pilot, said Scott McGuckin, VP, Global Talent Acquisition. At Zillow, "sourcing efficiency improve[d] by roughly a third" in the pilot, according to Roz Harris, VP of Talent. AMD's Jeannie Steele, CVP of Global Talent Acquisition, said the tool is "enabling our recruiters to return to more meaningful human-to-human work."

On the integration side, Eric Connors, Chief Product Officer at iCIMS, highlighted bringing LinkedIn verification "directly into the ICIMS hiring workflow," while Adam Godson, General Manager of Talent Acquisition Products at Workday, said connecting Hiring Assistant to Workday lets joint users "make more informed hiring decisions and streamline their workflows."

Why it matters

The update pushes LinkedIn's agent beyond sourcing on its own network and into the recruiter's system of record: it now reads and writes ATS data, screens by voice and carries LinkedIn's verification into partner platforms. For TA teams, that makes candidate authenticity and ATS integration depth — not just search quality — central questions when comparing AI recruiting tools. It also puts LinkedIn in more direct competition with standalone AI recruiting agents, which DHRMap tracks in its AI Recruiting & Sourcing directory.
