PayrollOrg Survey: Employee Discomfort with AI in Payroll Rises to 46%

A new PayrollOrg survey finds employee discomfort with AI in payroll is growing: 46% of respondents said they are uncomfortable with AI in payroll processes (22% very, 24% somewhat), up from 39% in 2024, while only 25% reported being comfortable. The survey drew 11,171 respondents nationwide (9,451 answered the AI question). PayrollOrg executive director Dan Maddux said payroll leaders have an opportunity to help employees understand how the technology supports payroll, while UKG's Patrick Tripp called payroll 'at an inflection point, still largely in evaluation and pilot mode.'
