TrashLab, the San Francisco company building an AI-native operating system for waste haulers, has raised $12 million in Series A growth capital, according to a Business Wire announcement dated October 29, 2026.
The round was led by Ventana, an early-growth equity firm, with additional participation from Bienville Capital, Harlem Capital, and CreativeCo.
Founded in 2022 by CEO Neil Chaudhary and CTO John Tan, TrashLab targets an industry still largely dependent on legacy software. Its platform consolidates customer service, dispatch, routing, and billing into a single system, and includes Haul-E, an AI agent designed to automate customer requests and order-taking for waste collection companies.
The company says it will deploy the new capital across three priorities: accelerating its product roadmap, expanding agentic workflow capabilities, and scaling both its go-to-market and engineering teams.
The raise positions TrashLab within a growing cohort of vertical-AI companies applying large-language-model-era tooling to industries — waste management, trucking, construction — that have historically been underserved by enterprise software vendors.
The raise highlights continued investor appetite for vertical AI platforms in historically underdigitized industries. By unifying operational workflows and layering agentic AI on top, TrashLab represents a broader pattern: purpose-built, AI-first software displacing generic legacy systems in field-service and logistics-heavy sectors.
