DOL announces applications open for apprentice payment program
The U.S. Department of Labor says sponsors of Registered Apprenticeships can now apply for direct payments of up to $6,000 per apprentice through the Pay-for-Performance Incentive Payments Program. The program combines six incentive funds run by state governments, university trustees and private foundations and associations, including Jobs for the Future, the Wireless Infrastructure Association and the ASE Education Foundation. DOL has flagged priority sectors such as shipbuilding, defense, AI, semiconductors and nuclear energy infrastructure.
