Washington Employers Face New I-9 Inspection Notice Rules Oct. 1

Washington State's Immigrant Worker Protection Act takes effect October 1, 2026, requiring employers to display a new workplace poster and notify workers within five business days of receiving a federal I-9 inspection notice, according to the state Attorney General's Office, which released bilingual model notices and guidance in six languages on September 1.
