Pearson Education agreed to pay $150,000 and implement a three-year compliance program to settle an EEOC lawsuit alleging its online benefits, leave, and training platforms were inaccessible to visually impaired employees who rely on screen-reading software — a concrete ADA enforcement action with direct implications for HR buyers selecting or managing employee-facing HR-tech platforms. Under the consent decree, Pearson must hire a web accessibility consultant, audit and remediate its platforms, and deliver annual ADA accommodation training to HR staff.
