HR technology, every morning — wired to the companies and people behind it.

Enterprise recruiting platform iCIMS has earned a top-five user experience ranking for the third consecutive year in Sapient Insights Group's HR Systems Survey, while new research reveals that 92% of HR professionals believe employees can be reskilled for AI roles yet external hiring continues to outpace internal redeployment. Google is extending voluntary buyout offers across multiple countries and Microsoft faces scrutiny over how its own buyouts may affect AI ambitions, as job reductions also hit Virgin Media O2 under a cost-saving drive. On the workforce data front, ADP's National Employment Report shows private-sector employment rose by 86,000 jobs in October, and Lockheed Martin has agreed to pay $29.5 million to resolve alleged employment discrimination violations.

The move follows a 2% workforce layoff in July and a first-ever voluntary retirement offer to 7% of staff in April. Bloomberg columnist Gautam Mukunda argues that tenure-based buyouts may push out the AI talent the company most needs to keep, while Microsoft plans $170 billion in capital spending this year, much of it on AI data centers.
