CareerBuilder is an employment website and recruitment technology company that operates a job search engine and provides talent-management and hiring software for employers. It was founded in 1995 by Robert J. McGovern, originally as NetStart Inc. In September 2024 CareerBuilder merged with Monster.com (with Apollo Global Management funds as majority owner); after a June 2025 Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, career-brand operator BOLD won the auction for its assets in 2025.
