Recovery of £59,000 for five IT Agency Workers
The UK Fair Work Agency recovered more than £59,000 in unpaid wages for five IT agency workers. The workers had not been paid for 19 days of May work, and the agency said payment was withheld because they had opted out of the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Business Regulations 2003. The agency could not show the hirer had been notified of the opt-outs, so they were invalid and the withholding breached Regulation 12. The agency also reports more than £300,000 recovered since it began in April.
