Microsoft offers voluntary exits to eligible employees in four countries

Microsoft introduced a Voluntary Exit Offer for employees at level 70 and below in participating teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and India, according to a memo from Chief People Officer Amy Coleman published on the company's blog. About 60,000 employees are eligible — roughly 27% of its 223,000-person workforce — according to a person familiar with the matter cited by CNBC; that person said decisions are due in early December and departures on December 31. The offer builds on the voluntary retirement program Microsoft ran earlier this year.
