Microsoft offers buyouts to 25% of company
Microsoft is offering voluntary buyout packages to roughly 60,000 employees, about 27% of its workforce, in the U.S., Canada, India and the UK, as it spends $175 billion on AI capacity. Almost all staff outside the C-suite are eligible across Copilot, finance, HR and Xbox, while marketing, commercial business and security are excluded. Employees must decide in December and those accepting leave on Dec. 31. Chief people officer Amy Coleman said the company will learn from the new Voluntary Exit Offer.
