DOL: Restaurant Owes 31 Workers More Than $732K in Overtime, Minimum Wages
The U.S. Department of Labor found that a Florida seafood restaurant, Lucky King LLC (Miyako Japanese Buffet), violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by paying 31 workers flat monthly salaries as low as $1,000 while they regularly worked over 40 hours, resulting in a $732,976 settlement covering unpaid overtime and minimum wages. The case is a general FLSA wage-and-hour enforcement action with no HR-technology vendor or platform angle.
