The company was founded in 1996 in Quebec City, Canada (originally as the job-board Viasite, later Recruitsoft), and adopted the Taleo name in 2004; it was headquartered in Dublin, California. Oracle acquired Taleo in 2012 for approximately USD 1.9 billion, and it is now part of Oracle's Human Capital Management (HCM) product line.
