Staffbase was founded in Chemnitz in 2014 by Frank Wolf, Martin Böhringer, and Lutz Gerlach to make trusted internal communication reach every employee, including frontline and deskless teams. Its current AI-native employee-experience platform connects Communications, HR, and IT through a multichannel source of truth spanning intranet, branded employee apps, email, SMS, digital signage, and Microsoft 365. Staffbase reports 1,500 customers, 14 million users across 190 countries and 75 languages, and a team of more than 750 employees. The company converted to Staffbase SE in 2024 and remains headquartered in Chemnitz, Germany. Official announcements disclose $35 million raised through July 2019, another $12 million in 2020, a $145 million Series D in 2021, and a $115 million Series E in 2022, totaling $307 million of disclosed equity funding; a separate €50 million credit facility was announced in 2024.
