Patriot Software is a privately held Canton, Ohio software company serving American small businesses and accountants. Founder Mike Kappel started the first of the group's five software companies in 1986; Patriot says its current accounting and payroll software business has served customers nationwide since 2002. Its cloud platform combines basic and full-service payroll, accounting, HR, time and attendance, and accountant tools. Patriot reports more than 75,000 customers and over 180 co-workers across 30 US states. Kyle Quinn Dreger succeeded Kappel as CEO in 2024. The company says it is profitable and debt-free; the imported funding stage, date, and precise funding total are removed because official materials do not support those values.
