It serves higher education institutions and corporate customers across more than 120 countries, supporting use cases including employee training, academic learning, and extended enterprise education, hosted on Amazon Web Services. Originally founded in 2005 as Moodlerooms by a group of U.S. educators, the company was acquired by Blackboard (rebranded as Blackboard Open LMS in 2018) and subsequently acquired by Learning Technologies Group plc (LTG) in March 2020, operating since then as a standalone subsidiary. Open LMS has also acquired eCreators and absorbed the eThink Education brand.
