Onfido is a London-based identity verification company that helps businesses confirm people's identities by matching a photo ID document against a selfie using AI and biometric algorithms, primarily for KYC/onboarding in financial services and other regulated sectors. It was founded in 2012 by University of Oxford students Husayn Kassai, Eamon Jubbawy and Ruhul Amin, and raised funding including a $100 million round from TPG Growth in 2020. In April 2024 Entrust Corporation completed its acquisition of Onfido, reported at about $650 million, and Onfido's site now redirects to Entrust.
